As a journalist

As a young boy, I would read all the newspapers I found on the streets, like most children. Perhaps this influenced my decision to register in Media Studies at the University of Santiago. Before I finished my studies I began working for journal projects and never lost contact with them.

• 1997-1999. General interest magazine Tempos Novos. General coordinator and journalist in articles, reports and interviews. I specifically coordinated the cultural review section (arts, film, theatre, music). I was editor-in-chief from 1998.

• 1999-2000. Various contributions to El Mundo (Spanish newspaper) and the graphic arts monthly Gráfica.

• 1999-2001. I worked on journal coordination and editing for two websites: Vieirosthe most important Galician website, and Galego.org, a website about linguistic information.

• 2001-2006. Head of linguistic information section and coordinator of special features for Vieiros about culture, including several initiatives to promote Galician language, literature and culture.

• 2004-2005. Head of sports section in Vieiros (for which I worked throughout 2006). This is an example. I also produced sports illustrated reports on the World Championship of Triathlon in Lausanne, Spanish Rescue Championship, in Sanxenxo or World Cup of Triathlon, in Madrid, among other projects.

• 2006. I produced and presented some weekly radio broadcasts for the radio-magazine Extrarradio, for Galician National Radio. The subject of this broadcast was LGBT culture and community, and it was broadcasted on Sunday mornings across nine months.

• 2006. General manager and editor of proTexta, the literary suplement of Tempos Novos, the general interest magazine.

• 2006-07. I began to write opinion pieces for Galician e-journal Vieiros: list of them.

• 2006-07. I created some literary crosswords for 'Praza das Letras', a magazine promoting the book and Galician literature. You can download an example from issue 2, or download all the issues from its website.

• 2007. Some articles about Scotland for the Galician newspaper Galicia Hoxe (in Galician).

• 2007. I have was awarded a distinction for the 'Language Planning Prize for Journalism", from Carballo Council.

• 2008. I began to write opinion pieces for Galician e-journal A Nosa Terra, and some articles about Scotland and British politics as well: list of them. I keep my own column since June 2008: Driving John Moore.

• 2008. For the Praza das Letras project, I planned and prepared the text of Galician Books 2, a 24-page magazine that promotes Galician prose on an international basis. This issue was launched at the Frankfurt Bookfair 2008. Download it, if you want.

• 2008. I began to create crosswords for Xornal de Galicia, a Galician newspaper. For them I write a daily crosswords and a extra big one on Sunday.
